Perforated rubber or plastic mats in the sink will cut down on scratching and marking by pans and tableware. Wash with a solution of hand dish washing liquid detergent and water; or a solution of baking soda and water. Rinse and polish dry with paper towel or soft cloth. Never use scouring powders or steel wool as they will scratch stainless steel. You can brighten the sink by polishing with a cloth dipped in vinegar, or in ammonia, or dampen sink and a sponge; sprinkle a little baking soda on sponge and rub sink gently; rinse. How to clean ceiling fans?

The easiest way to clean a ceiling fan is with a telescoping lamb's wool duster or look for a fan cleaner that has a catch tray under it, like a little dust pan, so that the dirt doesn't fall on the floor.

To wash the blades, mix a solution of 1 quart warm water, one small squirt of dishwashing liquid (if it's very dirty - use ammonia instead), and 1/5 cup of white vinegar.

Putting white athletic socks on your hands, and ringing them out in the solution, will allow you to quickly clean both sides of the blades. And by gripping the blade with both hands, they won't spin.

If you like your carpet - never use "Steam Cleaning Vans" services. Their 212 degree steam will burn your carpet, set stains, can cause wrinkling and ... spreading dirt with a pad and not rinsing... no way!

Your carpet needs to be rinsed properly with a clean water or vinegar solution to remove sticky soap film which attracts dirt like a magnet.

AND: only good scrubbing will remove spots and stains completely.

So, instead of using Steam Cleaning Vans, try to use carpet cleaners for household. One of the best (maybe the best) is Hoover SteamVac V2. Or use Dry Carpet Cleaning.

Cleaning Windows

Use empty Windex bottle and add: 1/5 cup household ammonia, 1/4 cup windex (or any other glass cleaner), 2 tablespoon denatured alcohol or vinegar + cold water.
